Business Cartoon No 7

Business Cartoon No 7

eBooks on Amazon

I now have 14 cartoon eBooks available at Amazon.com.

You can access my Author's page by clicking here. This will show you all currently available eBooks.

Each eBook contains 100 cartoons from my "It's a Jungle out there!" cartoon series.

So, for less than a cup of coffee, you can have a few smiles, a few giggles and hopefully a few chuckles...

More importantly though, you will show your support for my cartoons and this will motivate me to draw more cartoons...

You can also visit my website regularly. I post a brand new cartoon every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.

There are over 2,500 cartoons in my "It's a Jungle out there!" series. In fact, I've just finished drawing Cartoon No 2569 this afternoon...

Cartoonstock statement for May

I was very pleased to see my statement from Cartoonstock this morning. Between the main archive and the Jantoo archive, the Cartoonstock Team has sold 25 of my cartoons in May 2013.

Of these 25 cartoons, 9 were sold through Jantoo and 16 through the Cartoonstock main archive.

Two cartoons were sold to major book publishers, nine for corporate newsletters while the others were sold for educational or online use.

Quite a good outcome really, considering I am not a full time pro...

You can search the main archive of Cartoonstock for my cartoons by clicking here and here for the Jantoo database.

eBook creation with Kindle Comic Creator

Recently, I've uploaded ten eBooks. These eBooks are collections of 100 cartoons from my "It's a Jungle out there!" cartoon series.

The eBooks can be seen at my Amazon Author's Page

The process was actually rather simple because I used the Kindle Comic Creator supplied free by Amazon.

After an easy download, the following points had to be noted. My cartoons are usually, by default, 2360 by 2930 pixels because I draw my panels 15cm by 15cm, scan at 600dpi, then reduce by 60% to put into the template. The standard page on the Kindle is 1280 by 800 pixels. As I wanted to put one cartoon per page, I used FastStone to do an automatic re-scaling of my cartoons to 800 by 993 pixels to maintain the axial ratio.

The covers were done by using a blank template 1280 by 800 pixels.

As I wanted a simple layout, i.e., a cover-page followed by 100 pages each containing one cartoon, the process of creating the book using the Kindle Comic Creator was very easy.

It took me about 2 hours to put the first eBook together, including uploading it to Kindle Direct Publishing. The subsequent eBooks took about 30 minutes each to put together and upload.

Of course, I had all the cartoons already drawn. That is indeed the longest part of the eBook process :)
