Hungry for Art Festival: Art Trail, May 24th 2015

The Australian Cartoonists' Association (ACA) is proud to once again participate in the Hungry for Art Festival organized by the Ryde Council.

Members of the ACA will be present at two events, a Pop Up Event on the 9th of May and the Art Trail on the 24th of May 2015.

Cartoonist: Hagen Cartoons
Brief Bio: Hagen is a Ryde-based cartoonist. His "It's a Jungle out there" carton series appears in newspapers, magazines, website, newsletters, books and is used often in corporate and educational presentations.

Brief Bio: Toonworld performs cartooning workshops all over Australia that “Empower, Educate and Entertain” kids as well as producing fun books and merchandise that improve literacy & motor skills.

Brief Bio: Jock Brodie is an Epping based cartoonist and live caricaturist.

Brief Bio: Josh Spencer is probably one of the best cartoonist working in Australia today. He is an event caricaturist and comic book artist.

Cartoonist: Rob Feldman
Brief Bio: Rob Feldman is a Sydney-based Comic Artist / Cartoonist whose recent book ' Cartoons, Comics. and Cows in Cars' has been hailed as a "Must Read' book by Rob Feldman ( and he should know ) His work, which has appeared in newspapers, magazines, and in the margins of his school maths books, has been described as off-the-wall , quirky and original ( apart, of course, from his plagiarised work ) and covers a broad range from single panel gags and spoof 'How-Tos', generally ludicrous adventure comics, and Life Itself observations.

Cartoonist: Paul Caggegi
Brief Bio: Paul Caggegi is a Sydney-based illustrator. He has contributed art to a wide variety of publications, and is the brains behind Pandeia: a sci-fi adventure comic set in Earth's distant future. Paul appears at most local conventions selling his books, poster and drawing commissions on site.

Cartoonist: Dani Vittz
Brief Bio: Dani Vittz specializes in Digital Illustrations, Storyboards, Scribing, Caricatures and Print Design. Based in Sydney, she has over 25 years’ experience in Advertising, Corporate Communication, Design Studios and Publishing Houses both Australia wide and internationally.

Cartoonist: Hayden Fryer
Brief Bio: HAYDEN FRYER is a Blue Mountains (Sydney, Australia) based cartoonist, illustrator, writer and founder of the boutique comics publisher, SIBERIAN PRODUCTIONS. Hayden's most recognised work, "BILLY: DEMON SLAYER" and the recently released "DARKEST NIGHT" comic series are a part of a set of uniquely stylised sequential works which have, and continue to see print in dozens of publications both here, in Australia and abroad."

Brief Bio: Regine is a storyboard artist and illustrator who finds inspiration from characters, from both real and make-believe worlds.

Cartoonist: Lindsay Foyle

Brief Bio: Lindsay Foyle had been drawing cartoons sice 1976 and writing about the history of Australian cartooning since 1986.

Cartoonist: Steve Panozzo
Brief Bio: Steve Panozzo's caricatures first appeared in The Manly Daily in 1985. Since then he has worked for newspapers in both Sydney and Perth, including a decade at The Australian. He is currently the
resident cartoonist at the Australian Journal of Pharmacy. Steve served as President of the Australian Cartoonists Association in 1992-93 and again in 1998-99. In 2010, he was awarded the Jim Russell Award for his outstanding contribution to Australian cartooning.

Cartoonist: Edward Dyer
Brief Bio: I'm a Professional Freelance Illustrator, specialising in cartoons, concept and digital art. I'm also a painter, sculptor, graphic designer and muralist. However I'm best known for my live drawn caricatures at various markets, conventions, events and Luna Park  Sydney.

Cartoonist: Peter Lewis
Brief Bio: Live portrait artist and exhibiting fine artist since 1981, and the editorial cartoonist for the Newcastle Herald from 1986. Other activities include public speaking, illustration and web design.

Cartoonist: Comicoz
Brief Bio: Comicoz is committed to preserving a permanent collection of Australian comics and cartoon strips by publishing books and magazines. Comicoz aims to recognise comics' contribution to and depiction of our Australian culture.
On Display at the Festival: A number of books published by Comicoz will be on display as well as copies of the Oi Oi Oi! Magazine. Orders can be made through the website for purchases.

Cartoonist: Tony Kentuck
Brief Bio: Started Cartooning in the British army, came to Australia in the ’60’s to further my ambitions re Cartooning. Put cartooning on hold due to lack of opportunities. Re entered the Cartooning business in 1980 whilst living in Perth, as a freelancer on The Sunday Times, Community News Papers and Penthouse. Returned to Sydney in 1987 and progressed from there.
For Sale or On Display at the Festival: Apart from doing Quick Caricatures, I will have a limited supply of superb Cartoon (mine) Tea Towels and a limited number of T-Shirts for sale on the day.
