Another happy customer for Ward

Ward signing one of the numerous "Golden Book" that various people ask cartoonists to draw in.
I believe I drew in well over a dozen...

Presentation of giant caricature. I do not know who the author of these caricature was (I didn't hear the announcement), but they are fabulous! All done with cross-hatching!

She wanted a cat, so a cat I drew for her...

Another portrait by Ward O'Neill

Friends checking out my cartoons

The problem with going back home to France for the Saint Just le Martel Festival
is that my family was requesting cartoons too for themselves and the neighbour's kids...

Part of the "Australian Exhibition" (below as well)

Official opening by the local politicians

Wiaz winning the "Humour Tendre" prize for his work and especially his series of latest books for kids:

My daughter (and son off camera) giving visitors little "Australian-branded" presents (key-rings and fridge-magnets featuring Australian animals, street signs, etc...) on behalf of the Australian Cartoonists' Association. People really liked that. By the end of the day, both my kids were well known around the room!

The Australian contingent ready to pose for a photo to be shown the next day in the local newspaper:

Yes, you see it right, the roundabout at Saint Just le Martel boasts giant colour pencils!

Unfortunately, the local priest died recently. He was a strong supporter of the Festival and a plaque was unveiled during the week to honour him...

Here comes "Justine", the mascot of the Festival. The story goes that Justine has been the mascot for years and has traveled far and wide around France to advertise the Festival. Going as far as taking the Paris Metro and climbing to the top of the Eiffel Tower. Now, it's not something you would see every day!

Winner of the "Humour Vache" prize

If I recall, I did a tiger for this little customer, as per his request...

2014 Saint Just le Martel Cartoon Festival: Part 3

Part 2 is here: http://www.hagencartoons.blogspot.com.au/2014/10/2014-saint-just-le-martel-cartoon_14.html

This is Part 3:

Eric Lobbecke being interviewed for Telim.tv, a local TV station located in Limoges
(the big town close to Saint Just le Martel)

One of my early drawings at the Festival. I foolishly started doing full A4 drawing, but quickly realized I could not keep up with the demand, so I very quickly switched to doing quick A5 drawings to please the many (many!) kids who wanted drawings, and since I draw mostly cute animals, there was a lot of demand!

The Australian contingent, with, from left-to-right: Francesca, Nerolie, Vicky, Eric Lobbecke, Judy Horacek, Ward O'Neill and Hagen.

The 2014 International Press Prize that was awarded to the Australian Cartoonists' Association for our collective exhibition at the Festival.

A (small) selection of quick A5-size drawings I did for the public.

On one busy day, I drew pretty much from 10am to 7pm (with a nice lunch in betweeen though!)
