2014 ACA Conference and Stanley Awards: Registration

Registration for the 2014 Australian Cartoonists' Association's  (ACA) annual Conference and Stanley Award Gala Dinner is now open: https://cartoonists.org.au/stanleys-registration/

The Menzies Hotel, Sydney, November 14 and 15, 2014.

It is open to all, not just ACA Members. It does not matter if you are a professional cartoonist or not (I am not a pro), if you enjoy cartoons, caricatures, graphic novels, animation, etc..., then register, come along and meet some amazing people!

Each year, ACA Full Members can display artwork in the "Year Book". The book is then compiled, printed and sent to all ACA Full Members along with a voting form. Each member can then vote for their favourite cartoonist in each of the categories. An independent company collects and tallies all the votes and the awards are announced during the Stanley Awards' weekend.

Wow, only two weeks to go before the Stanley Awards!

For those of you who don't know, the Australian Cartoonists' Association (ACA: http://www.cartoonists.org.au) holds every year the "Stanley Awards". It is basically a whole weekend event with a Cartoonist Conference on the Friday and Saturday and an Awards night and dinner on the Saturday night.

Basically, ACA Full-Members are eligible to enter the Stanley Awards in various categories. A "Year Book" is produced and all ACA Full-Members have to vote for three choices in each category. An independent auditor collects all the votes and the winners get a "Stanley Award" in the given category.

This year, my cartoons are contesting for the "Comic Strip" category. Needless to say my chances are very very slim as there are some amazing cartoonists in Australia.

The "Stanleys" are held in Newcastle (Australia) this year on the 16th and 17th of November. The full program can be found here: http://cartoonists.org.au/awards

A large proportion of Australian cartoonists are attending as well as a few cartoonists coming from overseas. It is always a great weekend, where you meet amazing people.
